Castellan is the premiere event of the Barony of Northkeep, held on
an annual basis, which determines the Baronial champion.
Puissant skill at arms are not all that is required to win the day!
Castellan is an Arts & Sciences \ Martial event that is comprised
of six areas of competition. Individually, these competitions are include
: Drighton - heavy weapons, Provost - light weapons, Marksman - thrown
weapons of axe, knife and spear, Title Bard - heraldic endeavors, Artisan
- proving skill in the arts and sciences, and Archer.
The concept of the Castellan is to determine the best all-around person
to watch over and defend Northkeep. Therefore, they need not be the
best in any given area, but rather should stand out in many areas.
Each competitor for the Castellan title must enter no less than 3 competitions:
one must be a Martial, and one must be either of the Arts/Sciences or
Bardic - any other competitions they choose to enter are of their own
choice. Upon entering each individual competition, the entrant will
notify the person running said competition whether or not he/she is
running for the Castellan title. Regardless of who wins the individual
competitions, those who are running for Castellan will be assigned points
in respect to their placement in the competition.
The total number of points someone who is competing in Castellan has
will be divided by the number of competitions that they enter. Should
there be a tie in the final scoring, it will be decided by the highest
ranking person present who is not from Northkeep, assuming they are
willing to make that determination.
The Drighton tournament will be the usual two 30 minute "meat
grinder" rounds (first round being fighters choice, second being
great weapons ONLY). The Archery will be in a standard ICAC format.
The Artisan is determined by an open competition. Documentation is required,
and all entrants will be judged using the Ansteorra A&S standard
judging forms. The Title Bard competition is a challenge motif.
One of the fine traditions of Castellan is a feast to amaze and marvel.

Event Site: Will Rodgers Boy Scout Camp
From TULSA:
Get on the Broken Arrow (Highway 51- west) and head towards downtown
Tulsa. It will be tricky, but you want to follow the signs for 412 toward
Stillwater. Once on 412 heading West, travel approximately 30 miles,
across Keystone Lake. The exit for Cleveland is the last free exit before
the turnpike. Follow it into town and at the first light on the edge
of Cleveland, turn left. Follow road out of town and at the top of a
very large hill a few miles out of town, there is a sign on the right
for Will Rodger's Boy Scout Camp.
